Pacific Men's Tennis: Ristow Takes Consolation Final at Rebel Classic

(November 2, 2009) - Junior Fernando Ristow (Curitaba, Brazil) of the Pacific mens tennis team finished on top of the flight one consolation bracket at the 2009 UNLV Rebel Classic Saturday. Ristow rebounded after dropping his first match to finish 3-1 for the weekend.

Idahos Stanislav Glukohov started the final strong, taking the first set 6-2. Ristow turned the match around by winning the second set 6-2 and forced a third and final set. Both athletes fought hard, but Ristow earned the set and the win on a 10-6 tiebreaker.

His win concluded the Tigers fall season. They will continue training to prepare for the beginning of the traditional spring season when Pacific opens the new year at Fresno State on Jan. 26.
