The Deep Water Dash

What: Pacific Rowing's Deep Water Dash

When: 8:30 a.m. April 17 and 18, 2010

Where: Morelli Park, at Weber Ave. and I-5, Stockton, Ca

Cost: Free

Description: Pacific Rowing is  conducting the first of a 3 event 2010  regatta series on April 17th and 18th.

  The Deep Water Dash  will be staged out of newly renovated Morelli park on Weber avenue near the I-5 bridge. Racing will begin at 8:30am and go until mid afternoon both days. Admission is free to the community for this event.

Saturday's racing will feature Pacific Crew racing against 5 other college teams including Sacramento State, Sonoma State, and California Maritime Academy. Deep Water Masters will be competing against 8 masters(adult) programs from all over central California, including Los Gatos, Sacramento State, Marin Rowing Association, Bair island Aquatic center, and Stanford Rowing Center . Sunday will see Stockton's nationally recognized  outreach junior rowing program, Deep Water Juniors take on  powerhouses River City Rowing Club, Jack London Aquatic Center, and Berkeley high School on our home water.

Racing on both days features a race course that winds through Stockton's newly developed 22 million dollar marina  from the I-5 bridge along this beautiful waterway toward  downtown.

Also newly completed, the Joan Darrah promenade features 2 miles of outstanding spectator opportunities with railing right next to the racing action from the I-5 bridge east to Weber point.

Pacific Rowing will also be conducting a community learn to row on Sunday at Morelli Park from 10am-1pm. All community members 10 years of age and up are eligible to participate free of charge.

Save the date for the next 2 events in our 2010 series, Deep Water Sprints on July 24th and Head of the Pacific Fall classic regatta on  October 17, 2010.
