Donald V. DeRosa

President Donald V. DeRosa was selected as Pacific’s 23rd president in 1995. In a recent editorial citing a decade of leadership, the Stockton Record states: “In his 10 years as the University of the Pacific’s president, Donald DeRosa definitely has made the grade. DeRosa has made the grade as an architect of significant change in Pacific’s landscape, both academic and physical.”

DeRosa has led a dramatic rise in student quality, directed a $100 million expansion and renovation of university facilities, achieved integration between schools and campuses, and presided over a 200 percent increase in the University’s endowment. President DeRosa has championed the infusion of new themes within the curriculum including the incorporation of ethics and leadership. He has fostered a deeper realization of Pacific’s distinctive character and values, focus on students, commitment to teaching and learning, and emphasis on service to the community.

DeRosa, with strong support from the Board of Regents, is leading an extensive and inclusive planning process to create a vision and priorities for the University of 2015. President DeRosa is committed to partnering with the region in economic development and serves on the Board of Directors of the Business Council and the San Joaquin Business Partnership.
