Advisor’s Liability
Entering into an agreement to serve as an advisor should not be taken lightly. However a well-informed advisor who is visibly involved with a group should have no undue concern for possible legal action.
By completing the advisor appointment process, a faculty or staff member is provided a record that she or he is fulfilling a university related duty.
Those advisors who act in good faith are defended and indemnified by the University of the Pacific to the extent provided under the law.
