Application Deadlines & Late Fees
Semester or Full Year
Prior to receiving your program application, you must submit your Interest Profile, Eligibility & Policies Acknowledgement and Course Approval Request forms. It is important to follow the Applying checklist and associated timeline so that you allow sufficient time to receive, complete and submit your application materials and supplemental application forms to IPS by the appropriate deadline.
Application Requirements:
- All applications must be submitted in hard copy. Do NOT complete any online applications without first consulting the Education Abroad Advisor.
- Applications must be complete. Incomplete applications turned in too close to the deadline will cause you to miss the deadline and therefore keep you from studying abroad. It is a good idea to meet with the Education Abroad Advisor at least 3-4 weeks before your deadline to make sure your application is complete.
- Complete applications are your responsibility. If you have application materials, such as letters of recommendation, transcripts, etc. sent directly to the Education Abroad Advisor, you are responsible for making sure these materials are received by the appropriate deadline. With this in mind, we highly recommend you collect all application materials and submit them during your Final Submission of Remaining Paperwork meeting with the Education Abroad Advisor.
- All applications must be submitted to IPS by 5:00pm on the day of the appropriate deadline.
Deadlines vary by program. It is your responsibility to determine the deadline appropriate for the program(s) to which you apply.
Main Deadline (for all programs that do not meet one of the Exceptions below):
- March 1st (Fall or Full Academic year abroad)
- October 1st (Spring or Full Calendar year abroad)
Exceptions to Main Deadline:
Programs with a deadline prior to, or on the same day as, the Main Deadline:
-
Application due 10 business days prior to the program's deadline (For example, if your program's application deadline for fall is March 1st, your application is due by 5pm, 10 business days prior to March 1st)
ISEP Programs (Most ISEP programs):
- Application due January 15th (Fall or Full Academic year abroad)
- Application due August 15th (Spring or Full Calendar year abroad)
ISEP Programs with a deadline prior to, or on the same day as, the deadline for Most ISEP programs:
- Application due 10 business days prior to the program's deadline (For example, if your program's application deadline for spring is August 1st, your application is due by 5pm, 10 business days prior to August 1st)
Late Fees
Incomplete applications are considered late. Each business day your application is late, you will incur a quickly increasing late fee. Our business day ends at 5:00pm.
One Business Day late fee = $100
Two Business Days late = $100 + $200 = $300
Three Business Days late = $100 + $200 + $300 = $600
Four Business Days late = $100 + $200 + $300 + $400 = $1,000
Five Business Days late = $100 + $200 + $300 + $400 + $500 = $1,500
Late fees should be paid online and a receipt of payment submitted to IPS along with your completed application. Please click here to pay your late fee. The number you enter for Quantity will be the number of days late your complete application is submitted.
