Below are the most common scholarships and grants that education abroad students apply for. There are also links to the right for search tools that will help you locate additional education abroad scholarships and grants. Check with the Financial Aid Office to find out how a scholarship or grant, if won, will affect your financial aid package.

Bridging Scholarships for Study in Japan 
Semester or full year students who study in Japan.  $2,500-$4,000

DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) scholarship
Semester or academic year scholarships for study abroad in Germany.

DiversityAbroad.com Study Abroad Scholarship $1,000

Gilman Study Abroad Scholarships
Pell-eligible students studying for semester or year up to $5,000

Guide to Online Schools Study Abroad Scholarship $2,000. You may apply this scholarship to tuition, housing, or traveling fees.

Michigan State University List of Scholarships for Students of Color

National Security Education Program (NSEP) - David L. Boren Scholarship
Scholarships for undergraduate and graduate study in less-traditional regions. Note that NSEP grants have a service obligation.

Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant
45 grants of $1000 awarded each year

Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships
3 months to 3 years, up to $25,000
