I Have the Greatest Job in the World

Every day I meet and work with outstanding young men and women and an outstanding faculty who share a passion for teaching.

Pacific is a very personal place where we complement book learning with life learning. Big enough for wide-ranging opportunities, Pacific remains by design small enough to be an intimate learning community of teacher scholars and student scholars. As a student you just can't be anonymous at Pacific. Faculty and staff work closely with students, encouraging development of intellectual as well as interpersonal skills.

And the results of this philosophy are inspiring.

  • Graduates each year who are prepared and ready for lives of responsible leadership and lasting contributions to careers and communities;
  • Parents, students, alumni, faculty, benefactors so proud for what the Pacific Experience has meant to them; and —
  • That anxious and awkward new student I met as a freshman now shakes my hand as a confident and poised young professional embarking on a lifetime of achievement.

If these were not enough to make my job great, my wife Karen and I live in a residential community on a campus of exceptional beauty and deep and lasting friendships.

And as I walk from the President's House to my office, students wave and stop and chat a bit about what's going on. In the process I meet such great young men and women and draw inspiration from their hopes, their dreams and their ambitions.

I invite you to learn about Pacific. You, too, can discover what makes Pacific an experience for a lifetime of responsible leadership and lasting contributions to careers and communities.
