





Rubric for Academic Programs
- Level 1: Program objectives are not clearly stated in terms of what students will learn. No learning assessment program exists.
- Level 2: The program has statements of learning objectives that identifies what the student will learn by enrolling and completing the program.
- Level 3: In addition to Level 2, assessment techniques have been identified and the program is gathering data on student learning.
- Level 4: In addition to Level 3, the program has clearly articulated learning objectives that are systematically incorporated into or linked to various courses. Data on student learning is available; data is gathered from systematic assessment methods used at the unit level or gathered at the course level and analyzed at the unit level.
- Level 5: In addition to Level 4, a process is in place to analyze the data and use the results of assessment to improve the quality of the program. Ongoing program improvement or change is clearly a result of assessment.
