University requirements state that all students enrolled in 9 or more units must provide proof of health insurance coverage or enroll in the University sponsored plan. If you do not apply for a waiver or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) you will receive an insurance hold on your student account.
If you provide your own health insurance, it must meet the minimum University requirements. Your plan:
- Must provide authorized care within the University geographic area (within a 100 mile radius).
- Annual deductible cannot exceed $2500.
You can submit a waiver or enroll with the Insurance Office located in the Cowell Wellness Center. For further information about waiving or enrolling in the SHIP, please refer to the Enrollment and Waiver links to the right.
