Young Sounds of San Joaquin
The Young Sounds of San Joaquin (YSSJ) is a high school all-star ensemble comprised of the top high school jazz musicians in San Joaquin County, California. YSSJ brings together students from several high schools to provide advanced studies in big band literature, performance practices, and improvisation. Now in its 6th year, YSSJ has performed with Christian McBride, Dan Brubeck, and Bobby Watson. It has also been a featured performing ensemble at the annual Brubeck Festival, Stockton Asparagus Festival, and the San Joaquin Delta College Jazz Series. Director, Keith Kelly
