Patrick Langham
Saxophonist Patrick Langham joined the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music as director of jazz studies in the fall of 2003. Prior to his appointment at Pacific, he taught at the University of South Carolina in Spartanburg, where he created a successful jazz camp, and Tusculum College in Knoxville, TN. At Pacific he directs the Pacific Jazz Ensemble, the jazz combos, teaches courses in improvisation, jazz history and theory, administers the B.A. degree in jazz studies, and is on the faculty of the Pacific Music Camp, as well as the Brubeck Institute Summer Jazz Colony, Jazz Camp, and Fellowship Program. Langham holds degrees in jazz studies from the University of Tennessee, and has performed with distinguished jazz artists at jazz festivals throughout the southern U.S. He currently leads the Patrick Langham Jazz Quintet. He has served as the educational director for the Brubeck Institute Fellowship Program, and the artistic director for the 2006 Summer Jazz Colony.
