Description: This is a one-of-its-kind ethics mock trial competition.
Ethics and professional responsibility are central to every aspect of this competition - obviously both issues of great relevance in light of Scooter, Enron, etc. This is a by-invitation-only event, ensuring participation by only schools with top mock trial programs - the proving ground for courtroom advocacy in law schools.
Here are key value points:
* Few, if any such competitions have 25 sitting judges - from federal and state appellate levels, as well as superior courts.
* Cosponsored by the ABA Section of Litigation and the Anthony M. Kennedy Inn of Court
* 16 top schools sending their stars to participate including Georgetown, St. John's and St. Mary's universities.
* Hosted at the Robert Matsui US District Court, Eastern District of CA
* Some of the judges involved include:
Federal judges Garland Burrell, Wiliam Shubb, Morrison England
California District Court of Appeals justices Arthur Scotland and Ronald Robie
Superior Court judges from throughout Northern California
