Prepare Practice-Ready Graduates

Students participate in work-based or community-based learning experiences that can range from clinical practice or internships to research or foreign study.

The "Experiential Learning Guarantee" is our commitment to provide an internship or other extended experiential learning opportunity for any student in every program.

The remarkable learning resources of our northern California region provide a variety of locales in which to gain applied learning experiences, especially in the three cities where the University is located.

We are proud of our heritage of providing practice-ready graduates from all our professional programs, as well as our liberal arts programs. Our emphasis on the "citizen leader" urges all students to get involved, and embraces the art of teamwork and collaboration.

Our graduate programs are also grounded in practical preparation and partnerships with business, industry, and government.

We value applied as well as basic research. As a selective private university, our obligation to prepare students for leadership in their careers and communities requires that leadership be part of professional competence.

In all these endeavors, our alumni are our best models and our greatest asset-alumni bridge to the classroom, guide as mentors, and help to place our graduates.

Population growth in California will become an increasing opportunity for Pacific to continue to grow and improve its student academic profile while at the same time become a more diverse national and international community, partnering with its region and the globe.

The challenge of competition, not only from the State university campuses but also from private entrepreneurial providers of education, will require Pacific to adapt information technology to serve personalized learning, expand partnerships with industry, and continually pioneer innovative ways to provide distinctive programs.

Our size, independent status, and legacy of innovation enable us to adapt with flexibility.

The University will achieve optimal and balanced enrollment to maintain the range of programs and our interpersonal character, both great benefits to our students.
