Changing Majors

Changing your major can have a huge impact on your academic progress. As you accumulate units, the effect increases. Because of this, before you can change your major, you must consult with your current adviser and discuss your proposed change of major.

To begin the process, download the  Change of Program form. Complete your personal information and your current and proposed majors. After consulting with your current advisor, obtain his or her signature. Then obtain your new adviser's signature, the signature of the new department chair, and the signature of the Dean of the school for the new major.

Sign the form and submit it to the Office of the Registrar.
