Applying for Veterans' / Dependents' Benefits

The Veteran Affairs Certifying Official acts as a liaison between students and the Veterans Affairs Administration. This includes certifying enrollment for veterans, veterans' dependants, and reservists and processing various government forms.

If you are a veteran program or veterans' dependent and plan to enroll under one of the educational benefits, you can help speed processing of your benefit claims. As soon as you receive notification of admission to Pacific, contact the Veteran Representative. If you are a first-time veteran applicant to Pacific, send a certified copy of the DD-214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) to the Office of the Registrar . Dependants must provide the office with the VA claim number and Social Security number of the veteran spouse or parent. If you have NEVER applied for or received educational benefits you can do so at: www.gibill.va.gov

"University of the Pacific is not currently a participating institution in the Yellow Ribbon Program portion of Chapter 33 Veteran's benefits.  However, the University continues to track the progress of the program and anticipates applying for "Yellow Ribbon" school status beginning with the 2010-11 academic year."

The Veteran Representative is located in the Office of the Registrar, Knoles Hall, 1st floor. You can make an appointment by calling (209) 946-2135.
