International Engineering Cooperative Education Program (IECP)

As an extension of its long standing Co-op program, the SOECS has developed a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to challenge themselves professionally as well as culturally.

The International Engineering Co-op Program (I.E.C.P.) has been praised by students, faculty, and industry as a way to further enhance the quality of an engineering degree. I.E.C.P. provides students with the opportunity to spend six months in an engineering environment in Germany or Japan. While abroad students receive hands-on training in the critical role engineering plays in a global economy.

Students who enroll in I.E.C.P. are required to take the equivalent of one year of language and culture training before departing on their co-op. Employers have stated that this feature is what attracts them to the engineering program and their students.

The cross cultural training I.E.C.P. students receive prior to their co-op abroad is unparalleled. Students are prepared to compete and collaborate with their overseas counterparts through leadership roles in global operations. The I.E.C.P. experience prepares engineers for the 21st century by providing students with a deeper understanding and appreciation of their field from a global perspective.

To apply to the International Engineering Coop Program,  please download the IECP Application.  Completed applications should be submitted to Professor Takahashi in Baun Hall 209.

Check out our I.E.C.P. brochure to learn more about this unique educational experience. For additional information, please feel free to contact Terumi Takahashi at ttakahashi@pacific.edu or Calvin Chen at cchen1@pacific.edu.
