The SAC sponsors three major events in the fall semester; Pacific Family Fun Day, The Staff and Faculty Holiday Reception and Adopt-A-Family. New in 2008, Pacific Career Month Activities.
Pacific Career Month Activities
In May, 2008 the Staff Advisory Council (SAC) surveyed staff to determine what events would be most useful to them during National Career Development Month in November. The results indicated that staff wanted development opportunities that would help them evaluate current skill sets through self-assessment. They also want help to prepare for interviews for internal positions and more information about the myriad of opportunities at the University. SAC in collaboration with Human Resources and the Career Resource Center have developed events to take place during November 2009 to address these interests. Pacific Family Fun Day
SAC sponsors this event for Pacific Faculty, Staff and their families on a Saturday in September. A fun time for the entire Pacific family with a delicious buffet, prizes, games, and entertainment. View pictures from the most recent Pacific Family Fun Day.
Staff and Faculty Holiday Reception
This event, co-sponsored with the Academic Council on the 2nd Thursday in December, is a luncheon in which staff and faculty come together to celebrate the holiday season. The event includes delicious lunch, prizes and entertainment. View pictures from the last holiday reception.
Holiday Giving
Adopt-A-Family- University departments or individuals can “adopt” a needy family to provide a holiday meal, household items and gifts. SAC representatives work with local charitable organizations such as United Cerebral Palsy, Child Abuse Prevention and Gospel Center Rescue Mission Stockton to identify families in need. Staff Years of Service Luncheon
Each year in May, Human Resources sponsors a luncheon to honor staff who have reached specific anniversaries in their employment at Pacific and to honor the recipients of the Cavanaugh Distinguished Service Award. Two individuals are nominated by staff, one exempt and one non-exempt.
