David Granger

Interim Lecturer in Bassoon

David Granger is serving as a lecturer in bassoon and a member of the Pacific Arts Woodwind Quintet for the 2007-08 school year.  He holds the B.M. and M.M. from the Manhattan School of Music.  He also attended the Early Music Institute at Indiana University and received a Performers Diploma in Baroque bassoon.  His teachers included Harold Goltzer of the New York Philharmonic, Elias Carmen of the NBC Symphony under Toscanini, and Stephen Maxym of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. 

Mr. Granger is currently principal bassoonist with the Sacramento Philharmonic, Napa Valley Symphony, and Modesto Symphony.  He teaches bassoon at the University of California, Davis and the University of California, Berkeley.  He is also director of   Passamezzo Moderno, a period instrument ensemble which will release its first CD this fall. 

At Pacific, Mr. Granger teaches bassoon.
