Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences
Advanced Practice Experience
The senior year is organized as a two-semester experiential learning program in various patient care settings.
Students complete six 6-unit rotations of fulltime study and practice, divided into six week blocks.
Upon completion of the advanced practice rotations, students receive over 1500 hours of clinical experience, all within the framework of the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum.
Four required rotations provide the foundation of the advanced practice experience:
- Internal Medicine Rotation
- Ambulatory Care Rotation
- Hospital Pharmacy Practice
- Community Pharmacy Practice
In addition, students select two elective rotations to complete the experience.
Each rotation is designed as a letter graded six unit course.
